Helen & Douglas House

Richardson Eyres are delighted to be raising funds for Helen & Douglas House; our local hospice for children and young adults.

The charity cares for terminally ill children, young adults and their families through exceptional hospice care. They provide medical, emotional and practical support, helping families deal with the implications of living with a child who will die prematurely, so they can make the most of their time together.

The two hospice houses offer specialist symptom and pain management, medically-supported short breaks and end-of-life care, as well as counselling and practical support for the whole family. It costs £5 million per year to run both hospice houses. Over 85% of the money they need comes from voluntary donations. To find out more about Helen & Douglas house, click here

Adam, Lee, Matt D, Matt J, Paul S, Prem, Rob, Sandeep, Richard, Ellis and Paul K managed to walk 84Km in 24hours along the Ridgeway with invaluable support from Jess and Khalid.

The scenery was as beautiful as anticipated, but the walk was exhausting.

As a charity Helen and Douglas House rely almost entirely on donations to support their families. Any further donations would be gratefully received.

Three Peaks Challenge – July 2014:

We are delighted to announce that we have completed the Three Peaks Challenge in aid of Helen & Douglas House; our local hospice for children and young adults. We raised over £10,000 for this worthwhile cause. The challenge involved walking up Ben Nevis in Scotland (1344m) in searing heat; Scarfell Pike in Yorkshire (978m) in the dark and finally Snowden in Wales (1085m) in more hot weather!  It was a mammoth effort and one of the hardest things we have ever done. You can view some of the pictures of the team completing the challenge here.
